System requirements

Radmin has no special hardware requirements. If your computer is capable of running Windows 98 or higher, the Radmin Viewer will run. It even runs on a 486 computer with 8 MB RAM.

Radmin Viewer

Will run on Windows 7/2008/Vista/2003 Server/XP/2000/NT/ME/9x

Radmin Server

Will run on Windwows 7/2008/Vista/2003 Server/XP/2000

Radmin note Installing and Uninstalling Running Voice Chat will require a sound card, speakers and a microphone.

Radmin note Installing and Uninstalling Radmin will still operate successfully even when the monitor, mouse and keyboard are not connected to the remote computer. However some computers do not boot successfully without a keyboard plugged in.

For All Operating Systems (Windows 7/2008/Vista/2003 Server/XP/2000/NT/ME/9x):
The computer should have TCP/IP (the most-used protocol for networking computers) installed.

Windows NT:
Service pack 6 or higher is required.

Windwows 7/2008/Vista/2003 Server/XP/2000:
Administrators rights or elevated privileges are required to install Radmin Server.

Before installation

Both computers need to be connected by TCP/IP on a local network, modem-to-modem, or over the Internet.

Radmin Server should be installed on the remote computer.

Radmin Viewer should be installed on the local computer.

You should uninstall all earlier versions of Radmin Server before installing a new version.

Radmin note Installing and UninstallingYou can install and use Radmin Server 3.4 while previously installed Radmin Server 2.2 is active if you configure Radmin Server 3.4 to use a different port.

Installing Radmin

To install Radmin (Radmin Viewer or Radmin Server, or both):
  1. Run rview34.exe to install Radmin Viewer.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions and select an installation directory when asked. The installer will copy all required files into the specified directory.
  3. Run rserv34.exe to install Radmin Server.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions. The installer will copy all required files into the default system directory.
  5. Radmin warn Installing and UninstallingOn Windows XP and later make sure that a build-in Firewall is configured to allow incoming connections for Radmin Server.

After installation, the Programs folder of the Start menu will contain the following shortcuts inside the ‘Radmin Viewer 3′ or ‘Radmin Server 3′ subfolders:

  • Help

    Displays the help file.

  • Radmin Viewer 3

    Starts Radmin Viewer.

  • Settings for Radmin Server

    Displays the Radmin Server settings window.

  • Start Radmin Server

    Starts Radmin Server.

  • Stop Radmin Server

    Stops Radmin Server.

  • Uninstall

    Uninstalls Radmin Server or Radmin Viewer from the computer.

Licensing Radmin

When the 30-day trial period has expired, Radmin Server requires a license in order to continue operating. When you purchase a program license, Famatech will deliver a license code that will unlock Radmin Server for continued use. Please see ‘Licensing Radmin‘ for further details. Uninstalling Radmin

Radmin can be uninstalled using ‘Add or Remove programs’ Windows settings or using ‘Uninstall’ start menu shortcut.

Windows 2000:

Radmin warn Installing and UninstallingOn some Windows 2000 configurations Radmin Server may not be able to uninstall mirror driver. In such case, do the following:

  1. Delete the \system32\drivers\rminiv3.sys file.
  2. Restart Windows.
  3. Remove mirror driver from Windows control panel or run rserver3.exe with /intuninstall command-line switch.
